LeBron James delivered one of the most spectacular performances of his illustrious career on Friday night, dropping 42 points, 11 rebounds, and 9 assists as the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Boston Celtics 119-108 in Game 3 of the NBA Finals.
James shot an efficient 16-of-26 from the field and hit five three-pointers, repeatedly silencing the TD Garden crowd with clutch shots down the stretch. His performance gave the Lakers a 2-1 series lead heading into Game 4.
Celtics star Jayson Tatum put up a valiant effort with 34 points, but couldn’t match James’ level on this night. ‘He’s the best player in the world on nights like tonight,’ Tatum said with respect after the game. ‘We have to be better collectively in Game 4.’
